Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, February 26th! Join us on Shrove Tuesday, February 25th at 6:00 PM as we gather as a parish family for a Mardi Gras celebration and feast and enjoy the last day before our Lenten fast begins. Our Youth Ministry will be cooking and serving pancakes, sausages, applesauce, desserts, juice, coffee, and tea in the parish hall. The dinner is free, but donations will be accepted at the door.
Before we enjoy our pancake feast, we’ll gather in the side parking lot at 6:00 PM with Fr. Javier for the burning of the palms. Fr. Javier will bless the palms from last year's Palm Sunday and the ashes of the burned palms will be used on Ash Wednesday.
There will be something for everyone - children can make and decorate their own Mardi Gras mask and there will be Mardi Gras beads to collect! We'll also have three different stations in the parish hall that you can visit representing the three pillars of Lent (Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving). Each station will have resources, ideas, and information on upcoming parish events and activities to help you and your family celebrate Lent this year.
So let us do the cooking (and the dishes!) and bring the whole family to celebrate before Lent begins.
We look forward to seeing you. All are welcome.
